AUDENASA -AUTOPISTASDENAVARRASA- proposes the construction of a new building to house its offices, currently located in the centre of Pamplona.
The planned location corresponds to a gentle south-facing slope, situated in the AUDENASA maintenance area known as Noain,
The programme is made up of offices zoned according to the different areas of the company, located on the upper floor, leaving the ground floor for access and covered parking.
The organisational scheme is configured by means of a central distribution axis: the work areas are homogeneously located with a south orientation and the rest of the "servant" spaces are organised towards the north.
The proposal seeks to offer a line of work linked to the taking of passive measures in its environmental and bioclimatic consideration: in this case the orientation, the respect for the topography and the insertion of the construction following the laws of the place are essential working guidelines in the formal genesis of the spatial configuration of the proposal:
Location: S-facing slope.
-Protection from the prevailing winds by the slope itself.
-Orientation: opening to the south: maximum solar gain in winter and direct solar protection in summer: latticework.
-Insulation: multilayer insulating façade on N façade.
-Geometric adaptation to the topography: the building is contorted to adapt to the contour lines, opting for a solution of minimum landscape intervention and minimum construction resources.
As a result, the building is parallel to the slope, longitudinal, glazed and protected by a lattice on the south side; closed, hermetic and very isolated on the north side.
The building offers an image derived from its own morphological genesis: a suspended tablet, almost floating on the gentle green slope; slightly contorted - repeating the same gestures as the topography - and offering a gesture of successive concave ribs to protect itself from the sun:
In a flat landscape - almost one-dimensional - such as that of the motorway, immeasurably longitudinal, the building from which the company itself is controlled and directed, is contorted, and stands as a watchtower (also longitudinal), as a new "lookout", observer....
Two concrete slabs enclose the cor-ten steel lattice to the south and re-used tyre ashlars to the north.
The image of the complex aims to establish close links with infrastructures linked to movement and transport, and perhaps removed from the usual urban readings in similar programmes.
