The proposal included and extension of the rear of the home, and a renovation of the traditional heritage architecture of the existing home. The features of Glentworth were retained, with the home a fantastic representation of a classic early 1880s Queensland timber colonial residence.
The site's two street frontage allowed the period renovation of the wonderful historical architecture to be showcased at it's separate street frontage to the outstanding contemporary architectural design that is seen from the other street entrance.
Even though the new extension is large, it doesn't compete nor replicate the architectural style and detail of the original Heritage home. The gorgeous classic 1880s Colonial Heritage design which made this home worthy of its inclusion of the Queensland Heritage Register remains in its glory at the front of the house.
