The renovation project of a 300 square meter penthouse, located in a 1960s rationalism building, in the heart of ancient Padua, focuses on the enhancement of the living space, characterized by natural light, warm and soft shades and natural materials. The condominium staircase is located in the center of the plan, and every rooms of the house revolve around this common space, allowing multiple views of the historic center.
Every trace of the past have been erased, every interior wall was demolished. Only the structural parts have been preserved, and the custom-made furniture hides the old structure of the apartment. The aim of the project was to create a fluid contemporary space. The living area is a single large room, totally south facing and connected to the large terrace, that runs along the entire length of the apartment, whilethe kitchen and the sleeping area are separated from the living room, thanks to the charming full-height sliding glass doors. The custom-designed minimal windows, without frames, look like pictures hanging on the wall.
The new floors in natural walnut contrast with the absolute white of the walls, forming an elegant chromatic harmony, that characterizes the whole house.
