Atrium Oliva has been designed for Allcon Osiedla in a unique location in Gdansk - in a district famous for its quiet streets and intimate buildings, as well as in the vicinity of large office centers.
The idea of the project team was to combine these seemingly opposing urban characters in order to create a place different from others. It was decided to shape the development on the model of an atrium house, using its layout but scaling the solutions to the whole establishment.
Atrium Oliva is a combination of an urban, metropolitan character at the meeting point of the estate with the surrounding area and a cosy, quiet place where you can breathe inside the establishment.
The urban interior, which has been planned between the buildings, is free from vehicular traffic, which makes it safe and quiet. The heart of the housing estate is a patio with lowered terrain - filled with solutions from classical atrium houses, but in a modern edition - it is a space conducive to establishing social ties between the residents, with a water feature, plants and a swing suspended under the footbridge. A theatrical outdoor staircase designed for tree-shaded seating intersects with a custom-designed playground. On the roof of the fitness area is a quiet zone where residents can read a book or sit rocking a stroller with a sleeping child.
The entire "courtyard" is bathed in carefully designed greenery, whose task is to emphasize the architectural qualities of the project.
