Here’s a the winner of the Schneider Electric Competition – Atmosphere. The project is by ALL in | Studio – a small and flexible studio for architecture, interior and product design.
The project was all about LIGHT. The light in interior. Our mission was to set three different sets of lightning and show how with one interior and different lighs, you can feel in different ways.
Light plays a central role in the design of a visual environment. The architecture,
people and objects are all made visible by the lighting. Light influences our well-being, the aesthetic effect and the mood of a room or area.
It is light that first enables spatial perception. Above and beyond this, our perception of architecture can also be influenced with light: it expands and accentuates rooms, creates links and delineates one area from another.
Light can alter the appearance of a room or area without physically changing it. Light directs our view, influences perception and draws our attention to specific details. Light can be used to divide and interpret rooms in order to emphasise areas or establish continuity between the interior and exterior. Light distribution and illuminance have a decisive influence on how architecture is perceived.
When we choosing our interior, it was important to consider the different lighting elements that can be included during the initial design process, as this was help us to achieve the best results. Interior lighting can act as far more than a functional tool, it can help to make unique space and allows to add an individual touch. The correct lighting can also help to make it a safer place. The lighting components that we choose to include depends on the design style and how inhabitants are going to use their space. For example they like to cook, so we incorporate plenty of ‘task’ lighting and recessed lighting, along with ‘convenient’ lighting for use in drawers and cabinets. They like to entertain and plan to use kitchen as a hub in the home to socialise, mood lighting is a must-have addition. Used more for decoration than practicality, mood lighting will add interest and depth to the space, while creating the perfect atmosphere, and it can be coloured too.
Materials :
Schneider Electric touch screen
KNX combines all main building functions like lighting, heating, air-conditioning or shading into one intelligent system, which helps to lower operational costs resulting in considerable energy savings, to save installation time as well as to increase flexibility and adaptability to future developments.
Translucent marble wall
When milled to only a few millimeters, marble become magnificently translucent materials, creating a palette of colors and variations that only Nature can provide. Complete LED Backlighting System is the complete solution for illuminating translucent surface materials. Translucent panels are a thin natural stone veneer permanently bonded to a glass substrate, allowing significantly improved light transmission for curtain wall and backlighting applications.
Eden Design Lighting
The power of this light source lies in its slenderness and unobtrusiveness; the simplicity of the fixtures’ design makes that it can be used anywhere. It can be built-in, surface mounted, or hung from the ceiling. On one and the same track, two separate dimmable circuits are available. The LED-fixtures are similar in style yet each one of them has its own character and lighting quality.
The THREE SCENES :
SCENE “On Line”
The apartment is in standby mode for most needs that have residents when they return it. The lighting in all areas evenly, working circles are placed on the ceiling and spots near the walls. Heating and ventilation are also active. The curtains are raised and the external environment is also part of the atmosphere.
SCENE “Fine Line”
In this configuration, the apartment is in the power saving mode, rotating accemted spots from the ceiling are turned on as well as concealed lighting. Multimedia is available to enhance the relaxing atmosphere. This setting is ideal for recreational enviroment (television, books) and a digestif in the company of close friends.
SCENE “Air line”
Here the lighting has a specific function. Large marble wall paneling is illuminated in the living room, spots over the kitchen island, hidden lighting and lamps hanging over the table. Multimedia is active and the speakers play classical music. Suitable for both expressive cooking and the family gathering around the table.
