Francis Cauffman, engaged as the interior design consultant of choice by AtlantiCare, developed an Interior Master Plan for the Mainland Campus in Pomona, New Jersey. The “Modernization” Project, a significant expansion and renovation undertaking, expanded the campus’s surgical services and capabilities. The Interior Design Master Plan focused on creating facility-wide cohesion in the design aesthetic and enabling wayfinding on the growing campus. The finish palette’s flexibility put emphasis on positively impacting the patient, visitor and staff experience. Spaces designed include Public Lobbies, Patient Access and Registration, Cardio Vascular Unit, Surgical Services, Central Sterile Department, Intensive Care, Med/Surg, Gift Shop and Café.
The Mainland Modernization project also received significant community support from individuals, foundations and corporations. The support of the community is recognized through two significant donor features designed by Francis Cauffman. Both donor installations complement the interiors, evoking the ideas of nature, translucency, and layering. Community support is further reinforced by hundreds of pieces of local art selected by the “Healing Arts Committee”, established by AtlantiCare.
