A life from rusted history
Design intention of this proposal is to encourage visitors to rethink that even in the darkest moment of our history, a life survived and continued. Memorial ceremony starts on upper level. By lighting a candle, visitors can participate in memorial ceremony anytime. The number of the candle light means the number of people, who think the meaning of holocaust. While their ceremony, visitors can see the tree in the middle of the memorial. The tree represents a life from rusted moment of our history. On the ground level, visitors walk in narrow space between translucent fabric and translucent plastic wall. By walking in this space, a shadow of the tree and a shadow of visitors are projected on the translucent fabric together. Visitor recognizes the tree is him or her.
