Atelier 1618 offers surgical care for men and women sensitive to to their physical harmony. Agence Spatiale designed this new medico-aesthetic clinic, located on Grande-Allée in Quebec City, for Dr. Gabriel Beauchemin and his clientele. The result is a soft, welcoming, and elegant environment where wood, curves, and eclectic touches accompany clients, far from the cold and sterile atmosphere often associated with clinics.
The design of Atelier 1618 stands out for its finely selected materials, symmetrical plays, and sophisticated textures. The reception area features glass partitions arranged in a staggered pattern, providing privacy for clients while they wait and allowing light to diffuse into the entrance. The reception desk, an abstraction of curves and facial profiles, was designed and created in 3D-printed concrete using robotic arms. Behind the wooden partition at the reception lies the majority of the clinic, including all intervention rooms, offices, and other related spaces. The post-procedure waiting room offers a highly dimmed atmosphere—a cocoon entirely enveloped in burgundy red.
