Atelier provides a new standard in hyper-flexible office furniture solutions with its multiplicity of spatial functions, while its industrial design combines functional durability and economic efficiency. the product challenges the paradigm of traditional office furniture solutions as agile working environments are quickly provided for employees requiring privacy and for teams needing a more collaborative setting.
Gensler sought a furniture solution that can meet the requirements of its highly diverse and creative workforce. Unable to find one, the architecture and design firm collaborated with Fantoni, an Italian office furniture brand, to create Atelier. Emerging from the need for an adaptive office furniture system that could support an agile mindset, Atelier allows for nimble teams to easily reconfigure their spaces as needed.
Atelier is comprised of four elements, which altogether function as a creative ecosystem: configurable worksurfaces, dynamic storage solutions, a collaboration toolkit with removable pinboards, and a bookcase and storage system that act as the system’s anchor. By thinking holistically during its design development, Atelier brings together all stages of the creative process while enabling teams to freely shape their work stations in both dedicated and non-dedicated spaces.
Experimental in nature with a refined, industrial aesthetic, the product responds to the increasing demand for flexible collaboration spaces found in the next generation of workplaces. Atelier’s experimental character reflects the attitude of companies that similarly define themselves in terms of constant change.
