Asymmetric House designed for a young couple and is located in the suburbs of Nicosia. Based on the architectural history of the area but with a contemporary twist the house focus on the play of roof shapes and the relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces. All roof points have different heights providing spaces internally that all of them are different, creating harmony to the house and curiosity to the people who experience it. Every room benefit the view towards outdoor gardens, providing strong spatial experiences while cooking, dining and relaxing. Glass is used in the main spaces to separate the interior with the exterior allowing direct view to the garden and internal courtyard from almost all the spaces. This creates an immediate relationship between the inside and the outside, allowing views and light to flow into the interior. The house is divided into two zones. Bedroom’s openings are located on the South - West side of the building. Kitchen’s and Living room’s openings are located on the South - East side of the building providing the best environmental conditions in every space. Raw materials such as concrete and timber are used in the design of the building. In addition to their aesthetic appeal, the use of raw materials can save resources bypassing the use of additional coatings and processes. Another key design aspect of the house is the creation of the two gardens which are placed in the front and back side of the site. Living room is located between those gardens providing to the users of the space a unique and relaxing experience.
