Imagine a setting: On one side there is the ancient city of Assos, rising on a volcanic hill with the Temple of Athena crowning the city at its highest point; on the other side there is the soft breeze of the Aegean Sea with a view extending to the Island of Lesbos. Our building embraced by the traditional texture of Korubaşı village overlooks such scenery. The design criteria of the building have been determined by the combination of all these elements. The building itself rises on a steel construction system of modern technology whereas the external walls have been constructed using the traditional masonry and materials such as khorasan mortar and local stones, and are 50cm thick. Concrete blocks of roof cover the walls located on the mezzanine floor while a view terrace has been designed to sit on top of one of the two additional blocks
