A Workplace Prioritizing Productivity and Comfort
Located within the Maslak42 complex in Istanbul’s Maslak district, the Ashan Headquarters Office was designed in line with the company’s decision to move toward a more centralized location. Developed on a single floor, the project sought to establish a working environment that supports productivity while also ensuring comfort for both employees and executives.
During the design process, two main criteria were emphasized: bringing natural light into the interior as efficiently as possible and ensuring user comfort. Circulation and working areas were arranged to maximize access to daylight, creating a healthy office layout. VIP sections, planned for hosting special guests of the company owners, were integrated into the overall scheme with a balance of functionality and representational quality.
In the spatial organization, the balance between aesthetics and functionality was prioritized. A uniform illumination was provided in the entrance lobby area through the use of backlit marble surfaces. Glass dividers supported by wooden poles separated the VIP sections from the main circulation areas, maintaining both spatial continuity and privacy. A bar area, designed as a flexible zone, offered opportunities for individual work, social interaction, and collaboration, contributing to the adaptability of the office.
In terms of material selection, dark natural stone flooring with a matte surface was introduced to bring a sense of calm to the interior, complemented by laminated parquet and wooden wall panels to add warmth. Wall coverings and custom lighting fixtures were applied to highlight surface textures. Mechanical systems were integrated into the ceilings of circulation areas to preserve overall height, while in the executive rooms, wooden ceiling panels were designed to merge seamlessly with the wall coverings.
To reinforce the corporate identity, orange was introduced as an accent color within the open office sections. This element was used to add a sense of dynamism and motivation to the workspace. Overall, the Ashan Headquarters Office was structured with planning, material, and color decisions that collectively support productivity, enhance comfort, and enrich the user experience.
