The formative lighting intent for the Business building was to attract with legibility, and retain users in this campus like business development after dusk.
The facade spandrel that embraces the central courtyard are of varied heights made of translucent glass modules.The spandrel serves as a rain screen, sheltered arcade and lighting feature all in one.
To resolve challenge of the tight depth provided; with no negotiation for compromising, due to structural constraint, loosing tenancy spaces and the authority restriction.
A single row of 5500K colour temperature LED concealed at the top of the openable spandrel capping, calculated with a 2 degrees angle tilted matt grey back panels, to reduce hotspots and further direct light downwards to the courtyard. polished reflective elements are integrated at the bottom, bouncing light upwards back on the back panel to maintain uniformity.
The surrounding landscape lighting are designed to be subtle yet enticing, to encourage interaction and tranquil breakaway moment from the hectic business environment, with concealed lighting at floating wooden benches and illuminated trees.
The double void space main lobby is flanked by 2 lift lobbies core; the visuality of the space are designed in juxtaposition of various colour temperature by having concealed 5000K LED fixtures at ceiling cove to graze the grey aluminium profile feature walls . 2700K colour temperature was selected for the bespoke hanging pendants to creating a more intimate ambience for the users utilising the communal spaces below, in contrast to the neutral 3000K hue selected for the general lighting.
The glowing panels above each lift cars at the lift lobbies are a reminiscence of the external facade lighting.
The overall lighting solution resulting in a brilliantly illuminated and low energy feature element that exceeds the toughest energy policy of Singapore Standard SS530, and achieved the BCA Greenmark Platinum award.
