Our planning team, while at their prior firm, served as the lead architects and landscape architects for the Asbury Woods Nature Center, which sits on 200 acres of rich, ecologically diverse land in northwestern Pennsylvania. The Master Plan for the two-mile Trail and Greenway calls for the improvement of the current ecological condition of the Greenway and development of new trails, boardwalks, a renovated barn, and bridges for the over 130,000 visitors who use the Greenway. The Nature Center building was expanded and renovated with new exhibit space, meeting rooms, resource space, and classrooms to the existing facility, while implementing green and sustainable design principles throughout the process. Features include: a vegetated “green” roof, use of recycled materials, geothermal and passive solar heating, use of sustainable materials, water efficiency, energy efficiency, and improved indoor air quality.
