ARTOOD is a design concept which is applied to a Mosque located in DPP Golkar office. Client wants a mosque which can make people and general public feel comfortable, without air conditioner inside. Furthermore, the main challenge is a time. A Mosque to be built is not a new mosque but take a new concept from the previous one, so the longer renovation process, the longer congregation do not have a place for worship.
This mosque adopts a big concept following the main concept of DPP Golkar building which is green design concept by maximizing the natural elements incorporated into the building. This mosque has several main concepts :
LAFADZ ALLAH ON THE CEILING
It is a ceiling in the main room where there is Lafadz Allah in Arabic, with a striped ceiling around it which symbolizes every complexity or problem (a striped ceiling), Allah is always there for us (Lafadz Allah in Arabic on the ceiling). Ceiling is one of the main elements in this interior design. With the application of striped blockboard on the ceiling which configurate Lafadz Allah, it gives a grand impression. And addition of indirect light on the ceiling gives a warm impression.
GREEN DESIGN
By using transparent material to enter more lights as possible and the wall which is opened in the pulpit area to get as much natural air as gratitude to Allah’s creation which is the wealth of nature
ASMAUL HUSNA
It’s 99 names of Allah which is applied as an ornament partition on the front side of the pulpit which will always remind us to remember the greatest of Allah while doing prayers.
COMPACT DESIGN
These are details which applied to the Interior to make the room efficient, such as shoes rack design which can be folded and no need large storage cabinet. Bookshelves which incorporated in columns and also sarong & muslim women’s prayer dresses (mukena) storage cabinet which is integrated with the wall.
The main materials used in this project are Blockboard on the ceiling area, multiplex layers of sungkai for Asmaul Husna panels, and vinyl wood motif for the floor.
The color scheme itself is more simple with the application of white and wood materials. The color scheme is also unity with overall design of the Golkar DPD office.
The mosque project finally realized with the concept of energy saving by opening and not closing the walls of the mosque. Every congregation will be offered a fresh green view so the worship activities are comfortable, the mosque which is a supporting facility is an important factor considering that the 1st floor area of ??the Golkar Office will be used by public community.
