Steven Learner Studio provided full architectural and interior design services for the design and construction of a 3, 500 sf private art library building. The project was conceived as a modern interpretation of a vernacular barn structure, reduced to a prismatic form. The two story structure is comprised of a steel structure with conventional stick framed infill. Exterior walls are clad in vertical cedar siding, with a zinc coated copper standing seam roof. Interior finishes are minimal and were selected to reflect the simple nature of the structure; waxed ash floors, staircase and ceiling, troweled plaster walls, and solid Douglas fir bookshelves.
