This custom designed building is a tribute to the adjacent park and the lake. The building is ground-up construction and is conceived primarily in concrete so that the building will age along with the Park. The intent is that as the building ages, it will look as if it has always been there.
The building’s exterior has two perforated, triangular facades covered in ceramic tiles, as traditional colonial roofs would be designed. The triangular facades serve as a heat and sound barrier and the ceramic tiles are intended to mimic the leaves on trees.
The building is home to two restaurants, one restaurant is fine dining and the other restaurant is casual dining. Each restaurant functions independently and has unique décor, furniture and cuisine.
Separately, visitors enter the two restaurants in such a way that they feel like they are entering the park.
Arrozsal is a fine dining restaurant with a view of the Park and an exterior dining terrace overlooking the lake. The terrace features custom design landscaping and lighting that accentuates the design of the building. A simple design, the restaurant utilizes local materials (marble, wood, & concrete). The secret is in the details.
During the day, the park is reflected on the leaves laser-cut into the polished stainless steel panels that encompass the dining room. At night, as the park disappears, the restaurant retains its park-like feel as soft lighting illuminates the laser-cut leaves.
The dining room’s custom designed, millwork ceiling is a three-dimensional interpretation of a cut, downed tree.
The romantic marble enclosed bar includes custom designed lighting fixtures that feature mirror-faced infinity boxes with crystal chandeliers.
