Among the hardest commissions to undertake is to
design something for yourself; even harder still is to design something
for yourself and 13 architects, each with a critical eye for design,
style and quality. The office is designed as a space that
combines a modern design aesthetic with a need for a utilitarian
workspace. The space is designed so that visual continuity throughout
the office is achieved and a studio environment is preserved. This is
accomplished by maintaining loft-style open workstation areas adjacent
to continuous windowed offices. This fosters a team environment and
leads to cross-pollination of ideas which enriches the design process.
A benefit of the design is that the individual work stations, offices
and conference room are located on the exterior of the space with
access to many windows allowing natural light to permeate throughout
the office the entire day. The conference room and
reception area are designed to be warm and inviting. Accentuated with a
live, warm green color, real plants, large windows and antique
furniture, the conference room is designed to make associates and
clients feel as easy and comfortable as they would at home. The
conference table was designed by Arpad Baksa Architect, P.C., and
custom manufatcured, to be a more modern feature which blends
seamlessly with the overall aesthetic.
