Ares Building is a housing project with a land area of one thousand
four hundred and seventy square meters and a construction area of five thousand
six hundred sixty-four and twenty-nine square meters, distributed in
four stories high, roof top and two sub floors. It is located north of Quito, in the Ponciano Alto sector, a neighborhood in current development.
In its location, the topography is used to raise it above the level of the
sidewalk, highlighting it in relation to the environment. The volume is oriented to the west,
using the visuals and topography to highlight the scenery and sunsets
unique in the mountainous landscape of the city, this being a conditioning factor
of the program.
Most of the social areas and main bedrooms are located on the principal facade
to take advantage of the view, by which a cut out was made in the front of the volume vertex
to be able to obtain the largest number of departments with visuals at the
landscape and provide hierarchy to the lobby that has a double height. The hall of
income manages a design strategy through reflection, angle and location
glass, the same one that projects the natural scenes that are oriented to the
west, summarizing the view that will be had in the different areas of the project. Is
decision is manifested in a composition of planes that adjectives the particular
morphology of his forehead.
Taking advantage of the morphology and wide corner front of the land, it was decided
highlight the horizontality of the project, by means of contrasting white stripes
with black cloths and reinforced concrete cloths, all this with a movement of
depths in order to generate relief and shadows to the facades, in a
composition with sober dynamism.
The terrace houses all the social areas of the project in flexible spaces, the
that by means of movements of partitions and large glass panels can
increase your ability and be suitable for different activities.
