Located on the second floor of a parking garage renovated into a boutique office building, the new 14,300 RSF architect’s office embodies its commitment to sustainability, resilience, well-being, and equity through multiple 3rd party certifications. Focusing on a future hybrid work model, the office provides a flexible and agile environment with spaces for collaboration, socialization, and focused work. The desire for transparency led to an open layout locating the materials library, collaboration spaces, café, studio, and model shop within view of the reception lounge, putting the Architect’s design process on display for all visitors. The space was designed to support a free address seating system whereby staff select from different types of workspaces intended to support any task required, from focused work to team collaboration. A three-degree temperature gradient in the studio supports occupant’s thermal comfort needs, and active design is promoted through sit-stand desks.
