This project is an example of the Architect's skill in adaptive reuse of a structure.
It is a 30 year old residential house nestled in one of the exclusive subdivisions in Metro Manila. The owner wanted to save the structural shell of the house in order to save on construction cost. It is a mixture of modern-minimalist tropical design. Wooden cladding was added in the facade to provide an added warmth and tends to soften the whole composition of the building.
The original house does not have any perimeter fence, but the current owner wanted to put up the fence for added security and privacy. Glass panels where used with the combination of concrete fence to create a barrier without sacrificing the openness inside the property.
The photo of the old house is included in this page so you can better appreciate its transformation.
