Designed for a client moving from a farmhouse setup to an apartment, this penthouse in Gurugram exudes bespoke luxury. Tailored to carry forward the typology of the client’s previous residence into an urban context, the penthouse boasts a lavish living space, an outdoor party area and a rooftop pool.
Architects Kulveer Singh and Ritu Yadav of TOD Innovations seamlessly fuse contemporary style with high-lux elements to create a harmonious and modern home. Bespoke touches of fluted glass partitions, elegant crystal wall sconces and chandeliers, and contemporary art emanate opulence as they dot the home.
Entrance Foyer and Living Room:
A large foyer welcomes one into this abode with a larger-than-life painting on one side that breathes life into the area. The entrance foyer opens into a lavish living space that peeks through a series of rotating fluted-glass partitions. The living space is the result of the pool on top, whose large structural columns divide this vast space into two halves. Taking advantage of the situation, the design team creates a formal seating area and a TV lounge connected visually opposite it.
The vast living room and the pompous dining area set the tone for grandness with the use of semi-precious stones like quartz and mother-of-pearl inlay work for table tops, side tables, handles and fascia of the furniture.
Elder’s Room and Guest Room:
Going with the muted and refined theme, the Elder’s bedroom is prominently in shades of white. Designed for an elderly couple who are into meditation, a light palette combined with stones, wallpapers, fabrics, wall paints, and fluting lend an airy and serene feel to the room.
On the opposite side of the white room is a guest bedroom with varying levels. A lighter template with beige-toned textures and upholstery is curated to give the room lightness and elegance, keeping in mind the varying ceiling levels that exist.
Staircase :
The hallway leads to a central staircase lined with hand-painted art spanning the lower and upper floors. The vibrant staircase leads one to the upper floor that houses master bedrooms, an indoor party area and a powder room.
Lounge Area and Party Room
The vibrant staircase leads one to the lounge area, which is designed in a lavish way, as the indoor party space also falls on the same floor. The powder room is extravagantly designed and fitted with lights and fixtures to maintain a luxurious experience for a guest.
Main Bedroom :
Designed for a couple, the master bedroom deviates ever so slightly from the neutral theme without going overboard. Infused with warm shades of peach and pink, the colour palette is adjusted to the client’s taste. While fabrics align with the warmer tones, the material palette for the ceiling, walls, and furniture aligns the room with the rest of the house.
The penthouse seamlessly threads elegance with luxury - A minimalistic base palette accented with coloured rugs, wall coverings, bright artwork and a Sufi lighting design, aligning the vision desired for the project. A holistic and easy-to-maintain approach to opulence.
