A temporary building in a historical setting

PARASOPHIA: Arabica coffee opened a kiosk stand at the 2015 Kyoto International Modern Arts Festival, which took place at the Kyoto City Art Museum.
The kiosk itself, including the time and space required for the construction until the removal, is designed to look like a part of the art exhibition.
Further, the design concept is created for easy setup and removal so that it can be reinstalled at any location.

The frame is made of aluminum and polycarbonate, and constructed to resemble a greenhouse. This material is light enough that it can be carried by just one person.
The spandrel wall is made of stacked concrete blocks that can be obtained anywhere in Japan, and cut plywood. The floor space surrounding the kiosk stand is made of gravel.

I imagined the contrast between the museum's serene space, and the kiosk in a bed of white gravel, as being he perfect setting for one to enjoy an unforgettable cup of coffee.

As a matter of fact, there was a request to set up this kiosk in a different location during this time, which we were able to accommodate since the deconstruction, removal, and reinstallation took just one day to complete.
