The new Pacific Visions wing of the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, California is a 120,000 lb. steel structure with an area of over 18,000 sf. This structure holds 839 uniquely-sized trapezoidal panels held together by 3200 custom steel brackets. The unitized glazing frames were designed as non-reflective and non-transparent to promote bird safety, and the structure also doubles as a ventilated rain screen.
