Re-establishing the presence of water celebrating the St. Laurence and the development of Montreal. The project taps into the entrails of the city to take it's pulse, project it's rhythm and render us conscious of complex yet hidden systems below ground. It is composed of a series of objects that act as a musical instrument. They capture, amplify and relay the sounds generated within subterranean water infrastructure to a simultaneously playful and meditative space at the surface. Through variations in their emplacement, each object generates a unique and constantly changing music that captures fluctuations due to weather and consumption and conveys memories as to the significance of water in Montreal's history, in constructed systems, to lakes, rivers, rapids, the St. Laurence.
