Located on a 323 square meter plot on Avenue Lázaro Cárdenas, in the Vertiz Narvarte neighbourhood, twenty-two flats are distributed across an eight level building. There are three housing typologies made up of two to three bedroom flats.
The layout has two aspects, one towards the Avenue Lázaro Cárdenas and the other towards Edzna street, which has allowed the design of four patios: two towards the main roads and two smaller ones towards the adjacent plots. The main volumes are joined through the vertical circulation, creating an H-shaped layout.
The stairs that wrap around the elevator allow for the apartment’s entrance to be on half levels, thus allowing the homes to have greater privacy on each side. In compliance with the standard and to be able to provide natural lighting and ventilation to all the apartments, the interior patios grow successively, in this way the floors are staggered and interior balconies are formed.
The building’s structure is made up of reinforced concrete load-bearing walls that run through the building from the foundation to the roof, and which are supported by concrete beams and a lightweight floor system of joist and vault. The elevator shaft functions are a large rigid column.
The main façade’s composition is defined by the overhanging balconies and the courtyard setback that generates a succession of planes and allows the relation between the city’s existing vegetation into the courtyard.
