The intervention in the apartment now in question refers mainly to improvements in the kitchen area and the fusion of two toilets, turning them into one.
This circumstance, because it entails the existence of demolition work, is presented as the opportunity needed to undertake small tasks that even without introducing more functional gains, allow some greater material and formal comfort to the apartment in question.
Thus the work is characterized by the replacement of the entire existing floor by a single wood floor (except in the kitchen and sanitary facility which will have portuguese marble) allowing a visual uniformity which will enhance the sensory of a certain area increase.
The introduction of lower-ceilinged elements next to kitchen access, toilet and corridor is on the one hand, make the regular ceilings plant, negating any arbitrariness existing alignments, but also enhance the framework paneling and furniture proposed.
We also introduced a new lighting in these spaces, which promotes a more contemporary reading and simultaneously emphasizes the longitudinal nature either the kitchen or the new toilet.
In the kitchen, the demolition of the walls which indicated a separation between desktop / cooking and dining area, not only enables this added visual breadth and physical space itself as well as introduces more natural light to the kitchen work area, reducing the sense of interiority.
To this also contributes the fact that we have proposed the location of the high cabinets (to integrate larder, fridge, freezer, oven and microwave), in the most remote area of the external walls and therefore natural light, allowing lower cabinets and with less visual presence being located near the empty space that houses the dining area, next to the façade.
In what has to do with the toilet, with the merger of the previous two spaces, the introduction of the washing machine and dryer, built-in cabinet that not only liberates this from the kitchen, as well as lets us locating the remaining equipment, including the shower area, side to said cabinet, as the counter sink that fills the entire elevation of the lower top of the toilet.
The new lighting proposal, linear and integrated in the ceiling and side cabinets to sink, along with the introduction of a total mirror expands the space and gives a certain lightness and higher brightness.
