APARTMENT PEIXOTO - FROM PARIS TO THE PORT
Located in the historic heart of Porto, hand in hand with Ferreira Borges Market, we will find a building with urban and architectural characteristics typical of this city. The Peixoto apartment, once office space (open space with two bathrooms) with 95m2 wide right foot, now transformed into a T2 apartment with mezzanine with 117m2.
Being an open space, it gave to look at it in a clearer way where ideas flowed, pre-existences did not collide with the proposal, but rather helped in the distribution and definition of the inner organization.
Of simple but demanding program the Peixoto Portuense family of soul and heart, but to live a few years in France, it necessarily wanted two rooms, a mezzanine, something relaxed without pretentiousness, but exquisite and with plenty of natural light, where you could rest when traveling Portugal. The floor plan of the apartment stands out for the "U" shape, large, light-flooded granite windows facing the main street, where the social space (living and dining room) is located. In the center stands out the vertical accesses of the building and entrance to the fraction, here we find the hall of the entrance of lower right foot, that is born with the appearance of between floor, with background the stairs in pine wood of access to mezzanine (pine floor) that take the prominent position in the apartment by its design. We find in this center the open kitchen that is inserted in the continuity of the entrance hall, formed by a volume of cabinets where the yellow is assumed and together with the structures of pine wood are present in a definition of limits. These in turn mark the entrance of the bathroom of service, where the past and present unite through the materials adopted. To the rear of the building we will find a lobby that provides the entrance of light freely, which will serve the rest spaces and a bathroom. The first room with a younger image, illuminated by two windows where the granite stands out and the second the most exquisite suite, with a large window that gives access to the bathroom (pre-existence) lined with microwaving, through a small balcony of high right-foot "S", where there was an open basin, replaced by a more current design and that originated the closure of this one through a curved glass that obeys the design of the balcony, giving greater privacy to the space.
With a light image, loaded with light where the white stands out and the pine is evident in a peaceful dialogue, broken only by an incoherent but controlled language in the kitchen, where the yellow, black and gray tones are evidenced. The interior volumetry that was born with the spatial composition, plus the decoration, seek to make the connection and bring in the end a harmonious coexistence.
