The Apartment in central Munich, Maxvorstadt was newly arranged and appointed for a new wed couple. The main challenge was to combine the partly existing structure with personal expectations and wishes in a fluid way.
The overall appearance of the flat is modern and well- structured through its white, lubrified oak wood parquet and built-in furniture, which leave enough space for usage, especially in the pitched roof area.
One of the highlights is the red tapestry – an heirloom of the owner’s grandmother – hanged in the seating area at the dining table. It matches perfectly to the shades of the kitchen and is not only an eyecatcher, moreover, it is also a sound absorber and makes the seating more comfortable for the back.
The open living area takes up to the kitchen seamlessly and creates through the usage of natural and homelike materials a simple, yet welcoming atmosphere.
Furthermore, in the bedroom is a custom-built dressing-section, which resembles a luxurious boutique changing room, influenced by the owner’s strong interest in fashion.
The special feature of the changing room is the darkened mirror & glass wall. It separates the dressing area from the adjoining bed in which there is - metaphorically spoken - a fusion between intimate privacy & provocative transparency.
Not to forget to mention is the extravagant grey & beige toned cement Ciré, which is a very exclusive choice to create a jointless look, matching the overall concept of a homely setting.
