Famous sculptors worked with large ideas. Placing in their abstract works values, such as youth and peace, wisdom and sincerity, allows them to communicate in different forms and materials reflective of the major themes of life. We charged a three-dimensional object with a function enabling it to conjure different perspectives and spaces arising from movement and light.
The new layout of the apartment provides it with flexibility.
A volume of precision mounted thermal panels designed in its centre subtly conceals the doors to the utility spaces, transforming into a seamless object of aesthetic beauty and introducing the adaptability for the spaces in the apartment to mould to different needs and evolve with the family. With the addition or subtraction of lightweight partition walls, it can function as a studio for a couple as coherently as a two or three room apartment for a family. The rooms can be used for sleeping or adapted for other functions - work, rest, recreation.
The radial arrangement of spaces around the central volume facilitates a freedom of movement. A coherent sequential movement from the common to the private, and from the private to the common, creates an ever evolving perspective of space.
