BRH+ completes the renovation of a residential apartment in the heart of Turin. The architectural project consists in the merge and radical transformation of two attic spaces, now connected into a single apartment that benefits from maximum functionality and environmental comfort. The apartment features a series of fixed furnishings custom-designed with sartorial precision to gain maximum storage efficiency; moreover, the custom-made furniture solutions allow to “open” or “close” the rooms through sliding partitions, in order to allow greater flexibility in terms of privacy. Defined down to the smallest detail, the interiors enhance volumes with a strong character: linear geometries shape unexpected spaces that are finely balanced and chromatically stimulating, distinguished by an extraordinary climatic, luminous and acoustic comfort. The apartment opens into the living area with a custom-made, open kitchen: the worktop with integrated sink is in white Carrara
marble, while panels are in ultramarine blue-stained ash wood, with a sliding door in Day and Night Twill fabric-looking veneer by Italian brand Alpi, designed by Matteo Ragni. Upon the dining table stands the L02 aluminium suspension lamp by OliveLab, with its linear pattern of tie rods; to increase the natural lighting of the dining area, a circular light shaft has been created directly in the ceiling. A second sliding door, on the short side of the kitchen block, gives access to a small laundry room and a service bathroom entirely covered in resin, providing an
immersive material effect. A long hallway connects the living area to the other rooms of the apartment: the master bathroom, the master bedroom and the children bedroom. The hallway receives natural light during daytime from a built-in porthole in the ceiling, and is illuminated by a large Glo-Ball suspension by Flos at night. The master bathroom spotlights a playful Birds N Bees wallpaper by Timorous Beasties that creates a playful atmosphere, emphasized by the spherical Lita blown glass appliques by Luceplan. Facing each other on the opposite sides of the hallway, both bedrooms are equipped with full-height wardrobes in lacquered wood with sliding and hinged doors, and customized door handles. The selection of furniture in the night area is deliberately essential, so to secure a minimal yet warm atmosphere, and leave as much space as possible for the daily activities. The project in its whole ensures the highest standards of environmental comfort: all spaces have been insulated to optimize consumption and have undergone a complete overhaul of the plant equipment, with a very accurate temperature and air conditioning control of the rooms.
