An 80 m² apartment in a newly built holiday property
Designed for short-term stays of an elderly couple, sometimes joined by grandchildren or used by a family of four.
The interior design centers around repurposed kitchen elements salvaged from a renovated apartment in the Kozolec building by Edvard Mihevc in Ljubljana. These elements were restored and now serve as the focal point of the apartment, including sliding-door cabinets and hallway storage, adapted to function like the original system.
The rest of the furnishings follow the kitchen’s beige and wood veneer color palette. A standout feature is the built-in seating under a dormer, inspired by mid-century design and customized for comfort and accessibility. It also converts into an extra bed when needed.
This area is more colorful, with carefully chosen textiles, cushions, rugs, and curtains, creating a cozy, nature-inspired atmosphere. A light wood dining table and wooden-slat lamps complement the design.
The bedroom and children's room are minimalist and functional, with warm wooden headboards and beds featuring deep storage drawers.
