APARTMENT ART GALLERY – Milan- Surface 320 mq- floor: 170 mq- terrace 150 mqLiving with style: from a simple home to a multifunctional space, this is the project of an interior transformation. From the family home to informal exhibition space. From private place to public dimension. This housing development is the evolution of an apartment that, with its renovation, followed the lifestyle of the owner, designing spaces for the activities that he loves: art, architecture and gardening. A space-gallery to show his passions to friends. From these premises an original space has developed, based multifunctional rooms. The living room can change, if occurs, from a relax area into an exhibition gallery for young artists. The space is furnished with a few pieces of furniture - some customized - and it has been cleaned out from unnecessary structures so to expand it and make it a neutral area. The furniture have been chosen primarily for their flexibility and are suitable both for public and private use. The exposition area is defined only by colors and materials: a blue frame defines a small space, a wooden paneling marks a wall, white tiles are used to frame windows and to create special reflections. The 150 square meters roof is located exactly above the space gallery. The roof is divided as a traditional apartment, with plants and climbers as walls and with furniture to define the function of each area. The plants species are chosen for their variety and not following a specific project relating to chromatic or landscapes studies. It's a spontaneous microcosm of specimens deliberately mixed and chosen according to the seasonal availability, personal tastes and fragrances. Very characteristic are the sun beds headboards made with bamboo canes and, in the dining area, the structure of awnings which are tailor-made and inspired to the awnings of Saint-Tropez beach resorts.Project by Paolo FrelloCollaborator: Marco VignatiPhoto by Fabio Lombrici
