Anthem Parkside Community Center overlooks the beautiful Superstition Mountains in the Phoenix east valley. The 43,000 square foot two-story center has a state-of-the-art fitness center, three-story rock climbing wall located in a central atrium, indoor gym for basketball and volleyball with LEED certified Robbins Pulastic® sports flooring, child care center, teen and kid zone rooms, multi-use rooms, aerobics area featuring durable Robbins Sportwood flooring, arts and crafts space, and cyber cafe’. Where views were not a priority, Kalwall® was used in lieu of conventional glazing. This fenestration system is a diffused light-transmitting system with a highly efficient insulation performance value in excess of R-20. The gym has exposed open-web steel bow trusses, along with exposed mechanical and lighting systems. Adjacent to the Community Center is a Big Splash Water Park, NCAA approved lap and diving pools, a lighted eight-court tennis facility, sand volleyball and outdoor basketball courts. STG Design provided master-planning and full architectural services on this project.
