Fast-growing energy company Antero Resources urgently needed a new headquarters to accommodate their rapidly growing staff. The architects designed 98,000sf of office space at One Union Station, a new building scheduled for construction at the Union Station redevelopment project. During lease negotiations, the design team analyzed the planning module of the building and changed the window mullion spacing to accommodate Antero office planning requirements. The client desired an atrium with 4-story connecting stair to facilitate communication between departments. The design team worked with Landlord's architect and engineers to implement the necessary building modifications prior to the start of core and shell construction. Antero previously occupied a series of old buildings in Lower Downtown, and the atrium's circular staircase symbolized the coming together of its people in one place. To highlight the focus of the company, the design team was tasked with creating a geological theme that spoke to the Earth, its strata and the valuable resources within. The design captured the energetic spirit of the company and created a working environment that focused on productivity. The design team provided interior architectural design, interior design, furniture selection, graphics and signage, and project management services.
