The station aims to replace old Brazilian base in that continent, which was damaged by fire and had compromised its overall structure. In addition, of course, to be a required update to the ongoing research development. To define the architectural party It has been made an analysis of the conditions on the deployment site. The place is the same as the old station, as this provides the best soil conditions, thereby reducing the environmental impact in the delicate flora and fauna of the region. The restrictions analysis considerations were: strong wind coming from the west; elevating slope also in this direction; advancing tide; insolation of the building and visibility of the station from the looking out / looking to it. In order to comply and exploit these constraints, the project guidelines were: to divide into 5 blocks above, duly sectored; to define 6m elevation above the ground; connecting walkways through block level and deployment of two ground blocks and maintenance services at this level. With this configuration, the design allows the strong wind coming from the west to go around the building without affecting it, since the blocks are in the direction of the wind. Also, it`s important to enhance the possibility of a emergency containment, since these blocks are "separated" in the event of an emergency on one block, it will not affect the remaining structure. Analyzing the shape of each block individually, it`s visible the slope of the roof. Idealized aiming to harness solar energy through photovoltaic panels, the most important for the sustainability of the station, reducing fuel use, harmful to any environment, especially the Antarctic, where there is a great concern to keep it as unchanged possible.
