Columns of chocolate bars suspended to form six separate shapes. Each form loosely represents the shape of the three major importer countries, and the three exporters of cocoa. On the back of each shape is the country or region it is associated to.
The six shapes are distanced away from each other in seemingly random positions but when viewed from the entry point of the courtyard mansion, they combine to form a representation of an enlarged French 2 euro coin - a symbol of the times when chocolate was viewed as only for the elite, a luxury item but also reminiscent of the golden chocolate coin popular with childhood memories.
It is a representation that the supply and demand are co-dependent in the chocolate trade, and one must need the other in order for the cycle to be complete, thus drawing attention to the rights of the farmers that grow the cocoa beans.
