For Andera, an IT start-up previously distributed across six floors in
two buildings in downtown Providence, their new space was the first
opportunity to establish a company-wide aesthetic and cultural identity.
Switching from a traditional workstation and office oriented space to a
completely open benching system with no offices allowed for the
inclusion of 12 huddle rooms, a large cafeteria, a 30-person board room,
two 12-person conference rooms, and a large collaboration zone that is
the heart of the office while still accommodating 100 employees. In
addition to the added program the design also fostered a sense of
community where employees who rarely if ever saw one another now have
impromptu meetings over a game of ping pong.
