ANCHORET is a boutique which collects under one roof brands of the most sophisticated garments, jewelry and accessories. New store in Beijing proves again that ANCHORET is not only a place to walk in and buy. Visiting Anchoret, each customer can experience very spiritual and harmonious space kept in a mild, soft and ambient mood. Holistic approach, and consistency in between interior and displayed products were always the key for anchoret creators.
For SPEYS architects cooperation with Anchoret is a deep process of searching for right spatial relations, proper material pallets, unique details and production solutions. Above all, however, it`s a series of design movements to implement a unique identity, personality and recognition for entire brand.
Entire boutique is divided into 4 showrooms where each of them has slightly different function.
Showroom 1 is the entry zone. Originally it was located 70 cm above the sidewalk with low and poorly lighted interior. One of our initial actions was to completely modify the facade and the entrance to attract the attention of passers and gave a very good view of the inside. We made three basic steps: We lowered the entire floor slab of showroom 1, we cut out the roof lighting and wrapped the entrance by the reinforced concrete frame.
Showroom 2 introduced mainly women collections, and it`s organized by large custom-made wooden register. In here customers can touch grey textures of the walls, notice original peeled off ceiling, exposed lighting installations, brass details and illuminated jewelry cases.
Showroom 3 is the place with soft mood where customers can sit for a while, use changing room, step on the soft carpet and have a glimpse in a big mirror.
Showroom 4 is dedicated mainly to men collections. Reclaimed wood elements, exposed water installations as well as patchwork look of original ceiling gives a feeling of men's austerity.
Throughout boutique attract attention the original ceilings where each of them has undergone only soaked with water. Prolonged soaking resulted in falling off the paint on bigger zones exposed reinforced concrete ceiling slabs.
To avoid intervention in the structure of the building, and to keep that beautiful image, all the lighting fixtures were distributed externally using spiral fabric wires and brass gripping detail.
The most complex detail is s hand-made wall display system. The main aim of that solution was to give a display flexibility of all products like hanging clothes, shoes, scarfs, purses and hats.
Different types of brass hooks can be screwed in wooden wall mounted bases. After adding modular wooden shelf or wooden bars Anchoret owners can frequently change the character composition of each display wall.
