An Artist's Villa at Matheran
As Site is in the fascinating hill top, Matheran nested at an altitude of 800m (2,625 above sea level ) the sprawling hills below and the majestic mountains around make the place an ideal vacationing destination.
The house is designed without disturbing the tree roots and the contours of the slope. The house has the foundation and frame work of v-shaped and tri-angle shaped tube columns. The rooms lead into the east side slopes in the two directions which replicates the ideas of the owner , who is a cartoonist who tries to make revolution in the society by his cartoons on the current public issues of the country.
The two projecting masses of building are inspired by the Aerial Ropeways.This the modern house built on unique location, top of rocks , gives it dramatic views . An living area created leading into the decks and the infinity pool which provide an 180 degrees wide panorama.
