Amélia Teles 315 is a residential development composed of 8 open plan apartments located in the charming Petrópolis
neighborhood where it´s located is a very charming area in the city,
close to a good range of entertainment and leisure options such as restaurants,
shops, gyms, tennis club, squares, sport facilities... all within walking
distance. We chose
the address so carefully that we decided to name the development after it as
tribute and a proof of our commitment and respect to that neighborhood.
The design speaks about human scale
and the integration with its surroundings, it´s been a very responsible process
from design to concept to execution.
From the formal perspective we aimed
for pure lines, at the same time neutral and timeless. An architecture that
could dialogue in a positive and propositive way with its neighbors. We wanted
to rescue and reinterprete the quality of architecture developed in the
town back in the 50ies and 60ies, known as the apogee of authoral and erudite
architecture in Brazil.
From the functional point of view we
increased the apartments square footage and reduced the amount of amenities
space to a minimum. Since we handpicked the neighborhood we wanted to create a
building that encourages the people who live in it to enjoy the city as
its natural extension. Also the structural system and floor plan
were designed to allow the future owner to leave it as an integrated space or
stablish his/her very own layout (1br, 2br, loft), as well as change this layout
according to the evolution of their needs.
