This two-family vacation home in the new urbanism community of Alys Beach, conforms to the design guidelines of the Bermuda Style, while maintaining a modern design. Central to the design are private decks and a central courtyard. Insulated forms for the poured-in-place concrete walls give this home three times the insulating value of a traditional home. Coupled with the white exterior and careful placement of large glazing toward the shaded courtyard make this an extremely low energy-consuming house.
