The Altomayo cafe wanted to create an authentic concept of a Peruvian cafe for that could be repeated and transported to any other city. Unlike many other cafe concepts, this started from its origin, the San Martin Jungle in the Amazons where the coffee is extracted. In spite that the act of drinking coffee is an urban experience, an etno-urban concept was created where the jungle sensation was incorporated into the city, creating a kind of oasis. The use of natural stones and wood allowed to create a natural ambiance. The graphics used in a super scale, allows to create a jungle sensation that marks the difference between many other imported concepts that we find in our city. This concept worked with sustainability in the use of materials. All stone applications are natural stones recycled from left over pieces from a local quarry. The lighting was thought out to safe as much energy possible using high efficiency lamps and L.E.D.S.All materials and furnishings were selected because they contained a high percentage of reused base materials.
