Social and environmental justice can be well served by rigorous & responsive architecture, as this ambitious competition illustrates. The program required that all submissions meet strict sustainable and affordable criteria, as well as zoning design standards prescribed for the West Guadalupe Historic District of Santa Fe. Our entry proposed two green-roofed structures, clad in stucco, and oriented around a water retention swale and community garden. Residents are encouraged to coordinate their crops and share in the harvest.
