Located in the "oasis" of Cariri, in the south of the state of Ceará, in the city of Barbalha, the Alta house had its layout defined from a cashew tree on the corner lot of a condominium. It is a single-story building connected to the natural landscape inspired by the idea of "being in contact with nature", a principle established by the modernist architect from Pernambuco, Armando de Holanda, in his book "Roteiro para construção no Nordeste".
The building was made in an "L" shape with a lot measuring 33.15 m x 30.50 m, bordering the streets of the condominium, creating a private garden and a designed space for the interaction of the leisure area with nature.
The social and intimate areas of the house diverge in two directions, surrounding the corner lot with its environment facing the view of the garden and the cashew tree. On the corner, with well-defined areas in volumetry , are located the living and dinning rooms bounded by a box with high ceilings, and a layout marked by lines in textures of concrete, wood and glass that take us to four suites through a corridor.
From the living room, we have access to the service and social areas, and the kitchen connects the garage to the service area.
The four suites were made in blocks to bring more privacy to the family, in which the last one was made for guests, with a private balcony and protected by a sloping concrete septum.
The leisure area, bounded by sliding glass panels with a walkway protected by a concrete slab that connects all parts of the house, is accessed from both the social and intimate areas.
The layout of the garden was made with curved lines in the topography and creating levels, where the spa is located with its square shape, in addition to a playground and a vegetable garden, all of them with beds for planting regional bush plants.
The Alta house has 652.28 m² of total built area, with an extensive program based on a simple architectural volumetry, but which brings identity and differential to our hot climate, in addition to a direct connection with nature.
