Sutter Health required a replacement in-patient care facility on their Oakland campus. Concerned about addressing local issues of urban reunification and community interaction, the new 805,870 square foot building was sited on this tight urban campus to provide a new inviting front door and identity to the Hospital. The 20-story tower would be interconnected to existing parking garages and the Cancer Care facility. The new 408-beds will provide oncology, orthopaedic, medical/surgical services as well as rehabilitative services while addressing the physical and emotional needs of patient and families first. This project is Phase I of a multi-phase campus redevelopment.
