the project consists of a non-denominational spiritual center that will include a church, classrooms, a fellowship hall, kitchen with dining area, and offices.
the program calls for the facility to be designed and constructed in two separate phases.
the first phase will include the abovementioned spaces, while the second will expand the congregation and add more classroom and office spaces.
conceptually, the building is composed of four individual but connected volumes, each housing different uses. these volumes are derived from the fragmentation of a simple square into four irregular polygons, which are then extruded to form the polyhedra that house the different spaces. the most significant and prominent feature of the facility is the main volume containing the congregation, with its sloped roof and the vertical, angled element on its top, resembling an old church bell tower.
the different materials, colors and textures utilized are a reflection of the diverse religions and believes the facility will gather, also corresponding to the individual spaces inside.
