We were asked to transform a very pragmatic open office space with dozens of workstations into something much more user oriented. Usually offices like that are meant to host as many emplyees as possible to increase the production. This time was different and the quality was far more important than quantity. Finally!
We've had to estabilish a clear division of functions allowing workers to use the space according to thie needs. The employees have their own seats, but still they can easily move - meander all over the office free to use the open workplaces, various meeting rooms or simply socialize at the big table in the "kitchen". The use of natural materials is meant to affect their senses and let them rest from the stimuli of the daily routine. The reception desk and worktables were designed to emerge and raise from the ground giving sense of stability and unity. And finally and what's most important for this project, the omnipresent greenery. We use it as a space dividers. It does not only produce the oxygen but also give staff a sense of being surrounded by nature.
