Alcalá de los Gazules develops around the summit of a mountain, over an extreme topography, leaning with vertigo over the horizon, from the outskirts of the historic nucelus to the end of the narrow and steep streets. This proposal is built from a clear concept: that of offering to the citizens of Alcala a flat, horizontal space located half way up hill from the new city park. A place that resolves the accessibility problems and at the same time creates new opportunities for the community. A base, a strategy for the future, an input for balanced dynamics. It was imperative to transform but also to highlight and value the original characteristics of this phenomenal landscape. Ordering this piece of teritory is articulating landscape and city, making bonds between the exisitng and desired landscape, directing relationships and overlaps.
