The New Regional Medical Center is an independent hospital envisioned by the Albert Einstein Healthcare Network as a tertiary level institution that functions as a regional referral center. Planned for a site in East Norriton, currently a golf course, the project requires careful master planning and community interaction, aimed at creating a destination hospital in line with community needs and expectations. The project is being designed with environmental responsibility, technology that maximized clinical productivity, architectural image, staff retention, and community amenities in mind.The Emergency Department will be a highly accessible, clinically excellent,patient and physician friendly department with a full range of clinical services. Cardiology aims to provide easily accessible, high quality cardiac services ranging from diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations to cardiothoracic surgery. The goal for Medicine is comprehensive services that meet the specialty needs of the region and support the ED, surgical specialties and critical care services, while comprehensive advanced General Surgery services provide MIS, advanced programs and support ED/trauma and other programs critical to NRMC’s success. The IR/Vascular/IC will utilize mix of dedicated and shared labs and common pre- and post- procedure areas to maximize efficiency.Amenity spaces are key to the project, and Women’s Services aims to be a high amenity, comprehensive provider of services for women and children including Level 3 NICU, Women’s Health Center, perinatology and neonatology services, gynecological surgery, a short stay (24-72 hour) pediatric unit and limited pediatric surgery. The project will also include Oncology and Orthopaedics departments. Additional clinical services, including psychiatry, trauma and transplant, are expected to be part of the NRMC’s second phase, which includes a 4-story medical office building.
